Thermodynamic properties of Drilling Muds

Thermodynamic properties of Drilling Muds

(OP)
Hi all,
I'm after typical Specific heats, thermal conductivites and expansion coefficients for typical North Sea drilling muds in the range 1300(10.8lb/gal)-1800kg/m3(15.0lb/gal) ... I have no idea where to start with this, so any help would be appreciated.

RE: Thermodynamic properties of Drilling Muds

The best place to find out I guess would be the mud companies: MI SWACO and Baker Hughes Drilling Fluids.

I've only used Oil Based Muds in the highly reactive clays in the central North Sea- I suppose the physical properties are very close to the physical properties of the base oil phase (we're not allowed to use diesel any more).
