Here's a question for you all:

1.  You take some as rolled A516 Gr65 plate and roll form it into pipe
2.  You weld the seam of the pipe
3.  You normalise the welded pipe
4.  You stress relieve the welded and previously normalised pipe at around 610 deg C

What class of ASTM A671 would you ascribe to pipe manufactured as above?

There's no prizes - only my undivided interest!

RE: ASTM A671

The Grade is CC65 under ASME SA 671, as for the class, did you perform any RT of the long seam weld or hydrostatic test? It could be either Class 40, 41, 42 or 43.

Thanks metengr.  Yes, there will be RT but no hydrotest.  The manufacturer is adamant that the pipe will be classed as 22.  Can't see how myself.
