Looking for books, papers, etc.
Looking for books, papers, etc.
(OP)
Been itching to do some reading, and wanted to pickup some good books on the use of hydrogen as a fuel in IC engines and was wondering if anyone had any recommends.
Things I am looking for:
Both SI and CI engines
Port, direct, and “vapor vented” types of induction
Duel-Fuel, Bi-Fuel, and straight hydrogen
I was looking at the SAE bookstore and was thinking of a couple of these (or at least some of the papers inside these bundles)

http://www.sae.org/technical/books/SP-2014
http://www.sae.org/technical/books/SP-1825
http://www.sae.org/technical/books/PT-111
Anyone have these and like them? Fullfill what I am looking of? If not what do you recommend?
Thanks

RE: Looking for books, papers, etc.
:)
I also know that there are many people on this forum that spend hours in dyno cells doing this sort of work. What books/papers do you reference?
Thanks

RE: Looking for books, papers, etc.
Am I mistaken or is asking for recommend reference materials legit when it comes to the forum rules?
I have wasted my money on books/papers before that didn’t have the quality of technical content I was hoping for. The point of this post was simply looking for experts in this field to inform me of the resources they use, to avoid again wasting my time and money.
I figured this would be a much better approach than sucking up the bandwidth on this site with tons of dumb questions that could easily be solved by my own reading.
Thank you again
RE: Looking for books, papers, etc.
Take a look at "Fuel from Water"
Eleventh Edition
author: Michael A. Peavey
ISBN 0-945516-04-5
i found it at Barnes & Noble, well written and researched
Enjoy
RE: Looking for books, papers, etc.
Thanks!
I thumbed through that book online and it looks to be a little sparse on technical content, but I picked it up for under 12 bucks shipped on amazon today, so at that price I can't lose too much.
I picked up some of the SAE papers I previously mentioned, and am still working my way through those. So far I have to say I am pleased.
