Surfcam file into Solidworks

Surfcam file into Solidworks

My customer gave me a .rar file which was drawn in Surfcam.  Does anyone know of a way to get this into Solidworks or to convert into a .stl file?  I also have Pro-E and Catia that I can use to convert as well.

Thanks

Thanks!  I'd never heard of that before.

RE: Surfcam file into Solidworks

Once you get it extracted from the .rar format (who uses that these days?), you may have a Surfcam native format file.  I think it's something like .dsn if I remember right.  To import that into Solidworks and visa versa, you'll need a $1500 add-in from Surfcam.  It used to be free with a Surfcam license, but I guess Surfcam thought they could gauge their customers for a bit more money.

Thanks for the additional info.  When I opened the RAR, there were igs files in there so I think the problem is solved.
Thanks
