Is anybody aware of a direct replacement for the GEC CTZ type of overcurrent relay fitted to GEC ACBs?
I've been caught out by our old friend obsolescence!

RE: GEC CTZ PROTECTION RELAY

Hi,
CTZM is relese & earlier it was always connected with low voltage circuit breakers which had been supplied by GEC ALSTHOM. Now they have stopped manufacturing even they are not making new releases. you can replaced by new one microprocessor based L&T make (SR21) or SIEMENS make (7series) or ABB make releases. Merlingerin is also having good lowvoltage breaker releases.

Thanks

Thanks for that, it's saved me a lot of searching

RE: GEC CTZ PROTECTION RELAY

GEC ALSTHOM later on changed its name to ALSTOM T&D. 4 years ago,ALSTOM T&D was sold to AREVA. So now it is AREVA T&D.But the relay factory is actually still the same factory. You can check MICOM type is suitable or not.

RE: GEC CTZ PROTECTION RELAY

Hi
There is no any lowvoltage breaker release in MICOM series.

Better; he can try with others who has multiple options.

Thanks
