PDM Revision Question
PDM Revision Question
(OP)
I have PDM set up to control the revision block on my drawing. I need to add a rev triangle to my drawing. The only chance I get to add the next revision, is during check-in. If I add a rev triangle to the drawing after check-in, my vault version will no longer be the latest. What shall I do? I'm thinking I'll have to make manual edits to the revision block & just let PDM do the rest. Any other ideas?

RE: PDM Revision Question
Yes, it may be two check-ins. But your files should be checked-in as you make major changes to your work anyway.

RE: PDM Revision Question
For me, zones work well to identify the location of the change. Rev ID's all over the drawing are reduntant to zones in my current enviroment. I can see how Rev ID's might be necessary on very complex and highly detailed parts, though.

RE: PDM Revision Question
So you indicate the "zone" in the revision comment then?

RE: PDM Revision Question
My boss told me that we did have one vendor recently request revision clouds, and i was like "I'm not going to put cartoons on my drawings." lol This is especially true since our models drive the specifications for the parts in question. However, on the model, we do change the color of the feature being modified.

RE: PDM Revision Question
When a drawing has any change, the whole dwg should be checked for errors ... not just the change. Things change on their own sometimes.

RE: PDM Revision Question
Is there a reason why you can't add the revision bubbles prior to check-in? Or are you trying to maintain the revision block link to the revision bubble?
I'll see what I can find in the meantime...I know I've done what you are asking for.
