Relay installation in temp.

Relay installation in temp.

(OP)
Hi,
Electromechanical, static & numerical relays required to installed in Air condition room? or only static & numerical relays reqd. to installed in air condition room?

Is it reqd. to installed relays in air condition room where ambient temp. is not more than 35 to 40 degree?

What should be the temp. effect on long time after installation for all kind of relays?

Have you observed relay failured due to high ambient temp.?

What IEEE/IEC specifications are saying?

Thanks

RE: Relay installation in temp.

Relays are often installed outdoors in smaller substations, either in free standing cabinets or in breaker control cabinets.  The relay instruction book will show ambient temperature limits.  The first one I picked up (SEL-351S) says operating temperature -40° to 185°F (-40° to 85°C).

RE: Relay installation in temp.

IEEE C37.90
