Sharing SW Holes db

Sharing SW Holes db

Sharing SW Holes db

(OP)
I've created a new holes standard derived from the "ANSI Metric" standard and added custom holes for press fitting dowel pins. I'd like to share this modified db with the rest of the SW seats in the office. I've tried copying the SWbrowser.mdb (from C:\Program Files\Common Files\Solidworks Data\lang\English) and also the Default.mdb (from C:\Program Files\SolidWorks\data) to the same folders on anoter computer but the modified db isn't accessible on the second station. Is there another db or file(s) I'm missing that needs to be copied also?

RE: Sharing SW Holes db

Depending on how SW was installed, you may have multiple copies of SwBrowser.mdb in different directories.  Search windows for SwBrowser.mdb and replace any copies that you find with yours.  Of course, don't forget to back up the old copy just in case....

Ah yes ...

my solidworks is using the SWBrowser.mdb from C:\Solidworks Data\lang\English. Once I copied that one to the second computer, we were able to use the modified holes.

Thanks handleman, a star for you!
