Cursor tracking SE V19

Hi,

I am new user of SE. I have V19.

How can we track the cursor with respect to origin?

If I rephrase my question, I am looking for coordinates of any point in my drawing w.r.t origion (0,0).

RE: Cursor tracking SE V19

Hi,

within the MainToolbar you will find a Button with a grid
on it. Press to activate.
Then on the ribbon bar that pops up the leftmost button will
let you choose the options for the grid.

The origin can be reset to any point

Ok, thanks. It helped me.
Further in this regard, when Grid button is selected on main toolbar and we draw a new line, point, arc etc., we can see the (x,y) coordinates for its starting and ending points. But the lines and arcs drawn already, when we select them, we see their length (radius in case of arc) and angle on the Ribbon bar and not the (x,y) coordinates.
We can find their x,y coordinates only by right clicking on them and selecting "Properties".
Is there any way that we can see (x,y) coordinates of drawn lines and arcs on the Ribbon bar?

RE: Cursor tracking SE V19

Hi,

no that is not possible. But select line and place the
mouse at one end of the line but don't click! You will notice
that a small line with a point will show at the cursor. This will
indicate that you are on the end point and the X/Y coords will
be shown. Now repeat that on the other endpoint.

Q: are you within sketch mode in a part? If so is there any reason
to draw your sketch this way?

Ans. Yes, I am in skecth mode in a part. Ther is no specific reason. I was just learning with help of tutorials.
Your answer help me.

I have a second question. Can we save 2-D file (probably from Draft of SE)as .dxf file of autocad version 9 in ASCII format? In fact, one of my other software accepts only this dxf format.

Thanks
