Hi Everyone
Does anybody have any experience using a VFD Drive on a wet rotor pump like a Grundfos UPS-50-240.Any insight on this would be appreciated.

RE: Varible frequency Drive on Wet rotor Pump

Contact Grundfos - who better to advise you but the manufacturer

I'm familar with that model number, however I know that Grundfos is putting out their own VFD.  Check their web site www.us.grundfos.com

Be careful if you are going to fit a VFD onto the Grundfos pump. The insulation class of the motors are typically not suitable for fitting a VFD directly onto the motor without fitting some type of sinusoidal filter between VFD and motor. Basic dv/dt filters are often not always suitable as the voltage stresses still impact the GF pump motor and I think therefore that GF will actually recommend a sinusoidal filter to ensure as close as possible a voltage sinewave.

Just courious, I looked in the catalogs that i have and couldn't find that model.  What is a UPS-5-_240 used for?
