Recip. Manufacturer Advice
(OP)
Can anyone recommend a mid to high speed reciprocating compressor manufacturer who offers their own performance/rating software along with technical training? My applications will be natural gas gathering and transmission along with CNG and injection.

I use it for diagnostics more than for new machine sizing. If you run your skid-edge conditions into their program and the physical parameters within the skid don't match the program really closely then you can be sure that there is something wrong with the compressor (yes, it is THAT good).

I haven’t had much exposure to Cooper or Dresser (other than my API 618 days); I assume their machines are comparable but haven’t a clue what their performance applications or support are like.
Anyone have hands on experience with a Dresser VIP? Cool concept but I’m interested as to if the mechanical complexity distracts from run time and/or reliability.

Your question on the VIP sounds like a great topic for a new thread...
I am invovled with Dresser buying some HOS machines, and I have to say I like what I see...
