Suddenly lost ref files

Suddenly lost ref files

Suddenly lost ref files

(OP)
Hi Guys,
I am puzzled, I have noticed that most of my sheets have lost the ref file that containes the title block and the PE seal on them.  All other contents are there.  I can see the file name and path of the ref file but can not find them.

Thanks,

RE: Suddenly lost ref files

Iknow this sounds simplistic, but the number 1 thing that causes this at my company is someone changing a folder name in the path to your x-refed drawings.  Sometimes it's hard to notice, like a space added or a hyphen added.

RE: Suddenly lost ref files

Or the server that actually contains those files and has been there since time immemorial has gone down or been replaced and renamed....

RE: Suddenly lost ref files

One thing that can help with this is setting the xref path to relative instead of absolute. That way if the server name changes, or a directory above the project directory, your still OK. This of course only if the xref is close to the drawing.

RE: Suddenly lost ref files

I would try to detach then reattach...if those certain items are still not showing up then go into the main drawing you are reffing and thaw those items...if they were frozen when you reattached, they will not be visible.
