LED for NVIS A
LED for NVIS A
(OP)
I'm designing a device with two LED annunciators that must be NVIS A compatible. This device is not in a cockpit and does not require intensity matching. Does anyone know which frequency of LED best meets the requirement. A GAP LED is 555nm, which I think is ideal. However, these are dim by todays standards. There are new chemistries in the 528nm range. What I don't know is if this is acceptable for NVIS A.

The only sure way to make an LED NVIS compliant is to filter it.
MIL-L-87562 provides the maximum emission requirements for NVIS compatible illumination.
