Hi guys,

Is anyone using TCx with SolidEdge?

Just interested to hear peoples views on it,

I've just rolled it out across the company (~15 seats), just getting workflows etc sorted...

Regards,

Simon

RE: Teamcenter Express

Still working on the implementation.  We are currently just using it to replace our current document control system, so we are only implementing document routing and vaulting in addition to the single "portal" for file location.

Second phase includes integration with SE including the SEEC.  The implementation hasn't been hard, but it has been a big buggy getting it to work with our processes.  Apparently we are taxing the software to its limit already.

Cheers Scott,

At least I know someone else is going through it!

We're only using it for Edge files, not global document control (unfortunately that still goes on Sharepoint).

so far, with regards to legacy data, I've uploaded one complete project, and I'm not planning on uploading much more than that currently, just going to leave it all on a shared drive and make it read only - if they need things to be put into TCx then they can be uploaded as and when.

My next trouble is that I've just alterered a drawing template, and now none of them are recognised. at all. great.

Oh, so you've seen the same bugs.  One day the switch is on and everything is working fine.  Another day, it takes a complete rebuild of the server to get back to where I was yesterday.  At least tech support has been, um, supportive.  But some of the issues we've been experiencing seem like problems that should have been caught during development testing and verification.

Scott, have you tried, with or without success to save a Solid Edge Draft file as a different file format, say DWG.

I've opened it from TCx but when I change the file type on the save as dialog, all the options disappear and I can't seem to save it as any thing other than a dft. :s

RE: Teamcenter Express

No, I haven't tried.  That is Phase II of implementation.  Right now we are just trying to get our 60,000+ historical documents loaded and be able to use TC as the electronic routing/sign-off.  Using it for live data comes next.
