How to model composite materials?

How to model composite materials?

How to model composite materials?

(OP)
I want to model a layered cylinder vessel.
The layers have different E and nu.
Just use tie keyword after making each part?
Please, tell me.

RE: How to model composite materials?

nu? what does nu stand for?

Do you mean composite as polymer matrix material?
what type of material for each layer?

RE: How to model composite materials?

Yes. You can use "Tie".

RE: How to model composite materials?

If it is a sample tie, wouldn’t it better to model it as a single part and partition it into the required layers and assign the required material into those layers?

Thank you for your quick reply.
nu means Poisson's ratio.

RE: How to model composite materials?

Why not use composite shells or composite continuum shells?
