Volume Calculation / measurement

Volume Calculation / measurement

Volume Calculation / measurement

(OP)
Does Catia have the ability to calculate / Measure fluid volume in an assembly?

A have a hydraulic cylinder assembly that I would like to measure the fuid volume.

RE: Volume Calculation / measurement

Ryan - you are probably using a HD2 setup?
Not a 1 button option.  You could set this volume up as a parameter in your catalog items.  This will become a column in your BOM.

Derek

RE: Volume Calculation / measurement

Ryan,

We are designing landing gears and we have the same issues, due to the complexity of the internal parts. To measure the volume, I create a simple cylinder part (big enough to cover all parts) which represent the oil volume and I assemble into the top level. Then, in assembly mode, I copy all the parts from the assebly into my oil volume as different bosies and I do a substraction operation. I will end with my oil volume.

Good luck

-Hora
