Steering System Reference Books

I am wondering what reference books you are using to design the steering system, such as steering gear, steering linkage, steering column. Thanks.

RE: Steering System Reference Books

"Hydraulic power steering system design and optimization simulation", Tom Wong, Delphi Saginaw Steering Systems, Society of Automotive Engineers, Inc. 2001  SAE-2001-01-0479, SP-1597

Or how about:
"Application of bond graph technique and computer simulation to the design of passenger car steering system", Vijayakumar, Srihari, Barak, Pinhas.  Kettering Univ.
Society of Automotive Engineers, Inc. 2002 SAE-2002-01-0617
 SP-1654

Thank GregLocock and cibachrome. I am designing a power assised steering system for a new car. How to select the steering gear and steering pump to meet the design requirements? Is there a refeence book or paper related to this topic? Thanks.

RE: Steering System Reference Books

Not that I know of. I'd search the SAE database for some ideas. Talk to your vendors they should be able to tell you what it is you need to work out - some have a worksheet.

Cheers

Greg Locock
