General Electric Frame 6

General Electric Frame 6

(OP)
Dear All,

Just wondering if anyone could assist me on this.  We have a General Electric gas turbine of model Frame 6, MS 6001B series.  The turbine has been working fine since 1998 and recently underwent a major inspection at 50,000 hours.  It was discovered during this inspection that there were cracks on the cover of its Compressor Discharge Casing.

I am curious to know if anyone else has experienced a similar problem with this type of turbines or is mine an isolated case.

Thanks.

Best regards
