sap2000 slab modeling (area)

sap2000 slab modeling (area)

I'm a newbie in SAP How can I model a slab and the direction of warping on the frame on which it insists?
In other meanings, in the case of a rectangular area composed by 4 frames how can I do to assign only to two parallel frames the load coming from a slab (modeled as an area)?

Thanks in advance

RE: sap2000 slab modeling (area)

There is "Area to frame" load with option to select 2-way or 4-way load distribution.

Yes, I try it but I dont know how to give the correct direction of the load (X-X or Y-Y frames)...

RE: sap2000 slab modeling (area)

Usually the load "runs out" along the short side of the plate.

first of alla thank you for yuor interest...!
uhm...I understand...but, sorry, if I was in a worst case of a squared frame...?It's one of my cases, actually...I'm waiting for an answer and still trying to do it by myself...

RE: sap2000 slab modeling (area)

Squared frame - 2-way load distribution. You know, creating a model is concerning the real conditions :)
