Hi,

Can WB give a sound signal when the calculation finishes?

RE: Make sound when finished

Hi,
no. But you can insert a Commands snippet in which you exit to the operating system and execute a DOS command such as BEEP (I think... I don't remember exactly).
I'd be curious to know why you need something like that...

Hi cbrn,

As you might have gathered, I'm quite new in the game.  I'm not totally sure how more senior fea engineers work, but believe that I excecute my simulation relatively frequently during the process of developing the complete model.  I do this because I want to be able to easily identify where something went wrong when it does.  It's a pretty big model, hence I've got some time on my hands that I could do something useful with.  Unfortunatelly, I tend to forget about the running (or since long ago finished) simulation as I attend to other things.  In fact, it would be of such value to me that I'm thinking about making a program that will keep an eye on ANSYS's processes and let me know when they are done.

I would like to thank you for all your help.  Thanks to you and the other folks, I'm doing pretty well.. I think.. Touch wood.  You have helped me alot.

Hi,
so, most likely the best "bell" would be the project manager asking you anxiously if the calculation is finished or not ! winky smile
