Help needed for Friction between Cams

Help needed for Friction between Cams

Help needed for Friction between Cams

(OP)
I am looking to use the Mechanism feature in Pro-E and can use the majority of features OK. I can place 2 components together using a CAM follower connection but I want to do this with an irregular shaped object and a circular object and force movement between the two.

To explain this, I want to replicate a CAM shaped gear and a circular gear so that as one rotates at a constant speed, the other rotation speed will be determined by the geometry of the CAM.

I thought I could do this with a CAM connection between two Pin connections and use the friction function allowing lift-off but although the CAM works between the surfaces, I cannot make one rotation cause the other to rotate.

Can anyone tell me how I can achieve this?

Thanks
