Projecting surfaces on sufaces
Projecting surfaces on sufaces
(OP)
Hello, I'm modelling an airplane and for the bottom of it I want to have a black surface (style NASA Shuttle) but I cant get this portion of the bottom by projecting a plane-surface on to the lower body (which will be Ideal since the projected lines on to the body are just want I want, but I dont arrive to get the surface), so I dont know how could I get a portion of the surface already done without damaging the previous one (this means I still want to modify the main body of the airplane in the future without thinking of the lower surface which I would like to change automatically)
Thanks if anyone could help.
Paul.

Any other suggestions?
RE: Projecting surfaces on sufaces
If you just want to have a black bottom I think the best solutin is to use "Apply Sticker" from rendering workbench.
Hope it helps you
Best regards.

It might look funny having both surfaces shown together. so, when you do the TRIM, use the option to keep both sides.
I haven't used stickers for a long time. How do you control (or limit) the sticker to the bottom portion of the surface?
RE: Projecting surfaces on sufaces
I found the best way for the thing I wanted to do, and I though sharing it with you:
The main body is an IMA surface, so I created an IMA plane (which I can give any shape I want) below the main body intersecting where I wanted to create the bottom surface and I splited the main body into two different bodies, that way I can alway modify the main body and the splited one will always adapt to this change. This gave me awesome results! Thanks again.
