Hello,
I want to implement a "troubleshooting" system in which a technician enters a keyword, like "relay" and the computer shows the known problems of our machine, related with relays.  The idea is to access it from the intranet, with pictures, etc.....what entry level program do you recommend me?   Does someone have a similar application?  Thx!

RE: Database

Microsoft Access can be used to develop such an application. I have an application I use for quality control inspection records of fabricated steel products that allows me to "search" for key words or view all inspections on a given itm. Or anything else I design into it. Access allows hyperlink ond picture type fields so pictures and other documents can be accessed through the forms you design.

I hope this helps a little

Gerald

Do you have a sample I can try of your progarm???  Thx

RE: Database

I have a sample at my website at http://weldinginspectionsvcs.com. It requires Access 2000 to run. I can make an access 97 version but it would take 4-5 hours.

The ability to search and filter records would exist with any DBMS. Not just access. I prefer access since it was the 1st thing I learned after Dbase.
