Hi,

Is there any way to configure extrenal translator UGto2D to have the same behavior that the convertion made in unigraphics with the 2D exchange?

RE: External UGto2D

Behavior is a bit vague....what exactly are you wanting to accomplish with the external UG to 2D?  Is there a specific setting you're wondering about?  Also knowing the version of NX you're using can help us help you.

hi,thank for helping:)
I would like to translate several file at the same time, and the result of these file should be the same type of translation of 2d exchanche inside unigraphics.

I am using NX4.

Thanks

RE: External UGto2D

I believe they (the parts to be translated) would all have to reside in the same directory for the external translator to work.  Then when it prompts for the .prt file, you'd input something like this:  C:\Files_to_be_translated\*.prt

I'm not positive whether this will work or not for batch translations, but it's the first thing I would try.

The results may vary, depending upon the settings you have set for the external translator.  I rarely use it so I'm not quite sure what to tell you to do.

the settings are already defined in dwgdxf.def
The interface for the dwg/dxf translation is the real problem here:

It would be intersting to have the same type of interface translating UGto2D drawing than the type used in DXF-DWG translation.

the diference between them is that ugto2d will translate a 2D drawing file and dxfdwg translate crete and autocad file with 3D and 2D drawing in it.

Since I need to translate the file so machining people can open it in spin fire I only can open 2D drawing file so...

I know this is probably very difficult to achive but it would save me hours of manual translation.

thank again

RE: External UGto2D

Yeah, I know what you mean.  I would strongly encourage you to call GTAC and log an ER with them if you're wanting to see improvements to the external "interface".
