Maximum number of substeps for expansion-pass in transient analysis

Maximum number of substeps for expansion-pass in transient analysis

Maximum number of substeps for expansion-pass in transient analysis

(OP)
After calculating a transient respons through mode-superposition and expanding the results, it appears ansys only expands 800 time steps. At a samplerate of approx 1000 samples per second, this is less than a second worth of transient respons.

Is this the maximum and/or is there a way to increase it.

RE: Maximum number of substeps for expansion-pass in transient analysis

Yes.  You can change it by issuing /CONFIG,MXND,num_modes.  Where num_modes is the desired number you wish to expand.  From what I read in the documentation this parameter should automatically update when more than the default are requested.  Issue /CONFIG,STAT to see what the value is currently set to.
