Fast Bus Transfer system or Synch Check

Fast Bus Transfer system or Synch Check

Fast Bus Transfer system or Synch Check

(OP)
A Critical 4KV Plant distribution bus is fed from 3 Sources Primary, Back up and Emergency.

Beckwith M04272 Motor bus transfer relay is used to set up automatically transfer between Primary & back up source.

Due to limited capacity of Emergency Source transfer between Primary (& or back up) and Emergency source is operator initiated manual in this case is there any compelling reason to use another M04272 or a simple Basler BE1-25 type Synch check relay to supervise manual transfer will be adequate?

Can anybody guide me in this decision?

RE: Fast Bus Transfer system or Synch Check

Power2engineer,

If changeover to Emergency source can be manual, I think the synchcheck relay should be adequate. In any case, I guess you would like to cut-off some feeders before transferring the board to emergency source and thus the same is not a fast one.
