Is it possible to export a custom UCS viewpoint to another part or assembly file?

Thanks

P.S. Why has the forum search been down for so long?

RE: Viewpoint Export

I don't know how you could export a UCS, nor understand why you would want/need to. Perhaps I'm not understanding what you really mean.

You can create multiple Coordinate Systems in both parts and assemblies.

Basically I have an assembly and a part, and I have a custom isometric view in the assembly, and I want to be able to view the part from that same isometric view same point of view.

Hope that clears it up a little bit.

RE: Viewpoint Export

Yes that clears it up completely. You don't need a UCS just a custom orientation view.

How did you create the custom view in the part? Approximately with the mouse, or via the arrow key increments, or ???

I just rotated the Assembly around then I hit the space key and created a custom orientation. I guess if I used the arrow keys I could record my keystrokes and reproduce in the other file. Is that what you were getting at Corey?

Cheers

RE: Viewpoint Export

That's one method I was thinking of.

The other was to create a matching angled plane in the part which could be used to orient the view in the assy.
