Plotting even tube or "hose"

(OP)
MatLab is new to me, so there might be a simple solution to my problem  - I hope...

I have a 1000x3 matrix containing x, y and z-coordinates for a musical conducting motion. I would like to plot that in a 3D diagram, but using plot3 makes it hard to see the 3D perspective on the screen. - can I use streamtube or something else to give the path of motion some kind of diameter, maybe including a mesh surface, so that the movement will apear more clearly?
regards, anders
