slow startup of nx3 /nx4

slow startup of nx3 /nx4

slow startup of nx3 /nx4

(OP)
the startup of nx3 takes 34sec ( Nx4  40sec) on fresh hardware WinXp without virus and firewall software. The FlexLM works fine.
What can I do to speed up the startup?

RE: slow startup of nx3 /nx4

Something I have found that helps is that after you install NX, defrag the drive that you just installed it on.

The first time always takes forever, NX5 included smile However, subsequent openings are much faster.

Yes, that is true.  But I've still, for years, always defragged my drive after any major installation of NX because I have found that it can have a significant postive impact on the 'cold' start-up time of NX.

RE: slow startup of nx3 /nx4

Hi.
We have 3 license servers with the enviroment setting UGII_LICENSE_FILE=server1;server2;server3

We are using this to enable redundancy and has always long startup. When change sign from ";" to "," we reduced thestartup time.

This because that flexlm checks all servers if they are alive when using ";" and not when using ","
