SAFE Charts

SAFE Charts

(OP)
Could anyone tell me - should all trips (i.e. those provided for machinery protection as well safety) associated with a plant be included in a SAFE chart or only the trips provided for safety as per API 14C??

RE: SAFE Charts

It is difficult to obtain cause and effect tables for equipment packages.  Consider SIS outputs including a permissive to run that trips the equipment while accommodating coast down auxiliaries as well as an emergency or fast stop.  Require a Safe Chart for pressure vessels such as suction scrubbers.  Reflect the SAC numbers in the table where required.  If you want SAFE Charts for equipment plan to develop them yourself after receipt of final documents from the manufacturer.  The logic for equipment may still be unavailabe even after startup.

Just keep saying that you love equipment packages.
