Meshing Problem

Meshing Problem

(OP)
ABAQUS was giving me an error that bad meshing and some elements are distorted. However, the job was completed successfully. I am just wandering the result I get is okay or not.

Any suggestion?

RE: Meshing Problem

It depends. You'll have had a warning and the bad elements will be placed in a set you can view in Viewer. If they're in an area of interest then your results will be poor for that area. You can usually tell by looking at the contours if there are any problems with the mesh. For models where the results appear to be mesh dependent need to be redone.

Thanks for your help. Could you please tell me how I can view the set in viewer?

RE: Meshing Problem

Look at the Display Groups (Tools - Display Group - Create) in the Visualization module. There should be an element set with a name like "WarnElemDistorted". You can select this and choose "Replace" to only show these elements.
