Sap2000 and Cables-what is the scope?

Sap2000 and Cables-what is the scope?

Pals

When you read cable basics, you discover the nonlinearity of cables to be a real assignment. Somehow I like Sap2000 and would like to experiment it with rods and cables

I request basic information from friends who have used this software extensively to model with rods and cables.

If possible point out to me web resources featuring FE modelling basics for cables and rods

RE: Sap2000 and Cables-what is the scope?

Well to get started, CSI has a good SAP2000 cable tutorial here http://csiberkeley.com/support_watch&learn.html which covers many of the basics. There is also the possibility of cable large deformation.

Thanks Stressed

I have previously watched all that but your mentioning them made me concentrate more on the hunt.

If you come across a book with application(not just theory) and examples, please post a link here

RE: Sap2000 and Cables-what is the scope?

Hey guys, I'm working on some cable stuff using Version 10.1.2 and am in need of some assistance.  The W&L video is for Version 11, so the process seems to be different.  At least the menu items aren't the same.  Is there a way to find their Version 10 W&L video?  I'm looking through all the pdf help files that came with SAP and haven't found anything helpful yet.
