Bend And Twist Feature help needed

Bend And Twist Feature help needed

Bend And Twist Feature help needed

(OP)
I need to flex and twist a sheet metal channel for a helix  conveyor I am designing. The geometry needs to also automatically give me the flat pattern of the channel after the solid part is drawn.

How can get the part to retain both the bend feature and the twist feature at the same time and also allow Solidworks to be able to create the flat pattern?

Thanks in advance

RE: Bend And Twist Feature help needed

I don't know about "automatically" ... the only way I know to do what you want is to create a configuration where the Flex features are suppressed, and then activate the Flatten tool in that config.

So, one config to show the finished bent and twisted part, and another to show the flat.

cheers

thanks for the configuration advise i really hadnt thought of that (obviously), but is it possible to keep both the bend and twist settings on a single part at the same time. if so i am having trouble identifying how.
