BOD aging vs. SRT?
BOD aging vs. SRT?
(OP)
Is there a direct relationship between what is commonly known as "Solids Retention Time" (the age of the suspended solids) and the BOD sludge age?
I had some calculations go very awry because I used the age of the BOD and not the SRT.
If they are not the same, what gives?

RE: BOD aging vs. SRT?
They relate the quantity of microbial solids in an activated sludge process to the quantity of solids lost.
You can use either one in your calculations. However, if you want to compare process schemes, you have to be consistent in your calculations.
