Real Threads

(OP)
I am pretty new at this, however I can put cosmetic threads on a part fine. My problem is that I need to turn my part model into a step file so I can have a mold made to match the treads. Do I have to use the helical sweep to make this feature? If so, does anyone have any experience with this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Real Threads

You will need a helical sweep, but can be difficult to match real thd pitch.

RE: Real Threads

Good demo from Scott. I had been wondering how to create the runout thread. Thanks for the link.
