Should you upgrade to Windows XP professional x64?

Our IT department is strongly recommend we do not perform the upgrade too Microsoft  service pack 2 for Windows XP professional x64. There reason for this is upgrades of XP SP1 32 bit had consistent and lingering problems, many failed so badly they had to be rebuilt.

I went out to Micro$oft website and found Top 10 Reasons to Install Windows Server 2003 SP2. None looked like show stoppers for us. Does anyone know of a good reason to upgrade?

RE: Should you upgrade to Windows XP professional x64?

SW doesn't list the SP of the OS, so if what you have works, then I would leave it alone.
