Dynamic Pile Load Test

Dynamic Pile Load Test

Dynamic Pile Load Test

(OP)
My office design a foundation pile system in S. Carolina.  We basically used the recommendations from the Geotechnical report for 75 ft piles to carry 50 tons (100kips).  2 test piles were installed and tested (dynamic testing) at 5 days after installation, with factor of safeties of 2.5 and 1.85.  The 1.85 FS pile was re-tested at 12 days and its FS then was 2.55.

I don't know what the actual geotech recommendation was based on, but I'm assuming a 2.0 FS is adequate. Is the result something I need to worry about, since it was low initially.
