SAE Standards for Fuel Tanks

SAE Standards for Fuel Tanks

I am looking any type of a specification for pressure testing of a fuel tank.

Is anyone aware of any standards (SAE or other) for pressure testing of fuel tanks?

I appreciate any help.

Thanks!

RE: SAE Standards for Fuel Tanks

What is the vehicle application?  There is a motorcycle fuel tank standard J1241_199911, personal watercraft fuel system standard J2046_199301, snowmobile fuel tank standard J288_200212, etc.

These can all be found and purchased on the SAE website.

Its for automotive applications (SUVS, Cars, etc...)

I will be cutting a tank (plastic or metal) and rewelding it.  I want to pressure test to ensure there are no leaks in the tank.
