DeWaal Pile System
DeWaal Pile System
(OP)
I am working on a project in Florida which the DeWaal Pile System has been listed as one of the options for foundation design. Does anyone know where I can find articles or books about this kind of pile systems? Also, does anyone know the minimum amount of reinforcement I have to call out for each pile? Are the same type of bar cages used in drilled piers suitable for the DeWaal piles?

RE: DeWaal Pile System
Since it is a proprietary product, the pile design including rebar, was prepared by an engineering firm retained by the Contractor. As I recall, there was one, vertical #8 bar - that's all. Due to the installation method, there cannot be much, if any more reinforcing.
