Sketch projection
Sketch projection
(OP)
I tried to search the forum but no luck (I admit I am NOT very good at that).
I have a sketch on Front plane and another plane at an angle to Front plane.
I want to project the sketch from the Front plane to that "angled" plane but the "projection" to be perpandicular to the Front plane, NOT to the "angled" plane - so if Front plane is parallel to the screen, both sketches are on the top of each other.
So far I found that I have to create a Face (SurfacePlane) on that "angled" plane and than use Curves - Sketch onto Faces to project the original Sketch, plus hide the SurfacePlane.
I wonder if I could do it in fewer steps ??

RE: Sketch projection
Creating a surface from the sketch and using a body move/copy with a convert entities isn't a bad a approach either. If your initial sketch may be subject to major changes I would use this method.

RE: Sketch projection
Can you explain more what your end goal is? Maybe there is another method to achieve it.

RE: Sketch projection
Converting AutoCAD Weldment into SW Casting.
Detail plates (Flame Cuts) are welded "at angle" but machining is done at 90 deg to Front Plane.
Anyway, it looks like I was on the right track and I can handle it - perhaps even without that "perpandicular" projection after all.
Thanks for the answers.
