Well Water Measurement

Well Water Measurement

Well Water Measurement

(OP)
Does anyone know of an inexpensive way to measure well water depth from the top of a well casing. Examples:the use of Infared; Ultrasonic; Radar

Something that is relatively accurate but not priced so as to render it an impossibilitie for a home owner to install?

I want to install a devise permanently and tie it to my computer or a separate meter mounted within the house that I can frequently look at and see just how much water; how many gallons or at least what the height of standing water is which I can create an automatic calculator for to convert from.

RE: Well Water Measurement

I was introduced to Endress + Hauser Instrumentation once, but they seem geared more towards industrial applications.  You could check out their web site at www.endress.com. ; They have ultrasonic, capacitance, microwave, tuning fork style, etc. methods of measuring levels.

Or if you want simple, perhaps a float on a rod actuating a switch or photo-eye would give you the data you want.
