creating solids from surfaces

creating solids from surfaces

(OP)
I am not very fimilar with UGS NX4. I work in the automotive industry where I get surface model component data, and would like to know how to covert this to solids.  UGS displays the part thickens in a skeatch with the correct material thickness and direction. How can i thicken the surface?

Thanks for any help anyone may have.

Matthew

Ps. I know about the export heal function, to correct surface typology.

I figured there would be a thicken command but i can not find it anywhere

RE: creating solids from surfaces

Insert>Offset/Scale>Sheets To solid Assistant
This is also very useful as it will highlight any problem sheets in the geometry when it tells you it can't offset the surfaces.
