Configurations in assembly

Configurations in assembly

Configurations in assembly

(OP)
We made an assembly of a transport link with parts created in the assembly. We have several configurations.

problem1:
* We've made an assembly of the transport link with 2 supports.
* But when we change the configuration of the transport link (TransportLink with Supports.asm), we don't get a good image on the screen.
* So we have to open the TransportLink.asm and choose the same configuration.
* And only then we get the view that it should be.

problem2:
* We want to make an overview of the different configurations in an other assembly.
* We want to insert 5 times the same tranport link assembly , but each time in an other configuration.
* When we change one configuration the others change too.

RE: Configurations in assembly

What do you mean by, "we don't get a good image on the screen"?
Poor screen resolution or the configuration not appearing as it should.

Using a Design Table to control configurations usually creates more stable configurations with less "surprises".

RE: Configurations in assembly

Right-click on each inserted assembly and choose Component Properties.  In the Configuration Specific Properties box, choose which configuration you want to use.

I'm not exactly clear what you mean in the other questions about a good image.

--> the configuration not appearing as it should.

We are Using a Design Table to control configurations

RE: Configurations in assembly

Are you using the DT to control the suppression state of components?

yes

RE: Configurations in assembly

Are you still having a problem with the configs?

In problem 2, are the link assys patterned or 5 separate instances?

Which version of SW?

How big are the assemblies?

Can you post here for download and review? (See FAQ559-1177 for details)

yes

pattern, but when we insert 5 separate we have also the problem

Which version of SW?
2007 3.0

How big are the assemblies?
+- 10.000 kb

Can you post here for download and review? (See FAQ559-1177 for details)
??

i am trying to make a site where i can post pictures

RE: Configurations in assembly

I don't think images will help for finding the cause of this problem. The actual files would be needed.

But for posting images see FAQ559-1100.

RE: Configurations in assembly

Can you recreate the problem using smaller files? That away you don't have to send the large files.
