delta-P for inlet air filter, multistage centrif blower?

delta-P for inlet air filter, multistage centrif blower?

(OP)
I'm trying to characterize the system curve for an existing wastewater aeration system based on centrifugal multistage blowers installed in 1991.  Specifically, I'm interested in the pressure drop across the inlet air filter.  The blower is rated 125 HP and delivers about 1800 scfm drawn from atmospheric conditions.  Limited information exists at the facility, and the blower manuf (Lamson, G-D) could not quantify the inlet filter performance.  They referred me to a filter manufacturer named "Industra" but I could not find them online.  I feel like I'm recreating the wheel here.

Are there typical ranges of pressure drop (in-h2o or psi) for inlet air filters, clean and dirty condition?  Are there rules of thumb?  Can you refer me to a manufacturer who could answer such a question?

ALSO - I have similar questions regarding inlet and outlet silencers on the same blower.  G-D helped me guess that they are likely "U2" silencers about 1.5 the line diameter and maybe 4D's in length.  Less critical question, though, since I left a message at Universal Silencer in WI and they seem likely to respond...

RE: delta-P for inlet air filter, multistage centrif blower?

That depends upon the construction of the filter (for ex. what micron rating). 20micron filters have 2-8 mm drop, 10micron 5-10mm and 5micron 5-16mm etc. Please note that these are ballpark figures. An easy and precise way is to use inclined manometers to check the pressure drop. They are not expensive.

'Rules of thumb' depends on the type of filter
