Attaching Photos to drawing

Attaching Photos to drawing

Attaching Photos to drawing

(OP)
Hi

I am trying to apply photographs to a drawing to send by email. I am using Autocad 2000 and have put the photos on the drawing by insert/raster and put them on paperspace and it all prints out great. When I send the drawing off by email the drawing opens up and there is just the space where they should be with the path specified in the rectangle. Do I have to send the photos as seperate files
or is there a way to link them like an xref? or permanently attach them.

Any advice would be most welcome

Cadman

RE: Attaching Photos to drawing

yes, you do have to send the photos with the .dwg

file -> e-transmit

this will create *.zip file with all attached photos plus drawing and extras

experiment with e-transmit

hope this helps

RE: Attaching Photos to drawing

If I understand you, you are sending a .dwg file?  Is the person opening the file using a full version of AutoCAD or an LT version?  LT versions will not open pictures at all since 2002.  I've built drawings with included pictures and e-mailed them successfully several times.  When in doubt that the recepient might have LT I generally also send a .pdf file.
