Exterior Stairs...unconditioned or indirectly

Exterior Stairs...unconditioned or indirectly

Exterior Stairs...unconditioned or indirectly

(OP)
I am doing the Title 24 for a building and would appreciate some help with an exterior stairwell.  the exterior wall of the stairs is glass.  as of now the interior is either going to be concrete or metal frame with insulation.  My question is would either allow the stairwell to be unconditioned?  any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

RE: Exterior Stairs...unconditioned or indirectly

Are you talking about Title 24 being the 1997 Uniform Building Code as adopted by the State of California?

RE: Exterior Stairs...unconditioned or indirectly

(OP)
I was looking at the 2005 Nonresidential Compliance Manual.  i am not sure about the 1997 building code.

RE: Exterior Stairs...unconditioned or indirectly

If the stairwell has lots of glass, we typically air condition it. People will complain if it gets too hot.
