How do I remove unwanted .shx files?

How do I remove unwanted .shx files?

How do I remove unwanted .shx files?

(OP)
I have a drawing that came in from another company. When I load it, it looks for a missing .shx and .shp files. Does anyone know how I can isolate the problem and remove the request for the files?

I have redone some of the linetypes that look suspect, but to no avail. You would think there would be a way to isolate things like this, but I have no clue as to how.

RE: How do I remove unwanted .shx files?

This might not help, but if they are unused:

Type PU (or PURGE).

Select Shapes.

If there is something using a .shx, you can't purge it.  Otherwise, start purging away.

Thanks for the replies. I tried most everything to no avail. Finally, I just took everything on screen and wrote it to a block file, then resaved the block file.

That pretty much scoured it clean ~
