Use of helical Screw piles in New York City

Use of helical Screw piles in New York City

Use of helical Screw piles in New York City

(OP)
Has anyone out there used helical piles in new york? I am trying to figure out what clauses from the new york city building code apply to these.

It says minimum pile diameter of 8 inches, does this apply to screw piles?

Does the 0.35 fy rule apply to screw piles? Are there any additional safety factors on top of this?

Another firm is doing the geotechnical design on this, so I am really more concerened with the structural implications as the engineer of record.

Any advice on this matter would be highly appreciated.

RE: Use of helical Screw piles in New York City

call the manufacturer.  They will really help you because you are going to spec their product.  I've used it on residential projects so it was very simple.  www.abchance.com
