Wine Cave design

(OP)
I have responsibility for a soils investigation and for designing the portal for a small wine cave in Napa, California.  I haven't done one before and am looking for some information for design.  Are there any good references for these?  The soil is a CH clay-silt stone (moderately expansive).  I want to tie the portal retaining wall (8' tall) back to the shotcrete cave lining using at rest pressures of 70 pcf.  What kind of bearing pressures could I use for the portal wall foudation?  I usually do structural design but have been working in lightweight geotechnical engineering as well.

Thanks---P
