Cutting Aluminum with a Laser

Cutting Aluminum with a Laser

Cutting Aluminum with a Laser

(OP)
I have a stack of several aluminum fins that I need to cut standing on edge. (.004" thick, 1" tall, radiator fin) I need to cut to the approximate center of the material there is a copper tube in the middle of the fin. Can this be accomplished with a laser? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Don

RE: Cutting Aluminum with a Laser

I have never tried it but make sure to look into how aluminum and copper react you don't want to start a metal fire and then diferent materials have different cutting conditions so you may have problems in that way.  then you might want the head kind of high and turn hight control off so it stays at a constant hieght personally I would not risk it. there are to many possible headaches involved
